Pioneer Industrial Instruments manufactures cable trays in Pune and supplies the Gujarat chemical, petrochemical, pharma and port corridor overnight: Dahej PCPIR, Bharuch, Ankleshwar, Panoli, Jhagadia, Saykha and Vilayat GIDCs; Vadodara's Makarpura, Nandesari, Savli, Halol and Waghodia belts; Vapi, Sarigam and Umbergaon; Surat and Hazira; and by scheduled truck Jamnagar, Mundra, Kandla and Rajkot. FRP for chlor-alkali and acid areas, SS 316L for pharma and marine, hot-dip galvanised for utilities, racks and substations — supplied against IS, IEC 61537 and NEMA VE 1 specifications, load tested at an NABL-accredited laboratory with the reports published. UL certified.
This page is for the EPC, electrical contractor, consultant or plant purchase engineer in the corridor who has to choose the right tray material for a corrosion zone, meet a PSU or refinery specification, and get it delivered on a shutdown or construction programme. For the automotive and engineering belt around Ahmedabad and Sanand, see the Ahmedabad and Gujarat page.

|---|---|---|
| Chlor-alkali, dyes, agrochemicals — Dahej, Ankleshwar, Jhagadia, Vapi | Corrosion zoning by area: FRP in acid-gas and chlorine zones, SS 316L in solvent and chloride areas, HDG 85 µm and above in utilities; covers and sealed trunking; non-metallic supports in FRP zones. | FRP perforated and ladder with FRP supports and hardware; SS 316L; HDG; covers, sealed trunking, dividers; coating and material certificates per lot. See FRP cable trays. |
| Pharma and APIs — Ankleshwar, Vadodara, Vapi, Dahej | IEC 61537; SS 304L / 316L with GMP finish in process areas; HDG in utilities; dividers and covers in galleries. | SS 304L / 316L perforated, ladder and wire mesh with stainless supports; HDG utility trays. |
| Fertiliser, petrochemical and refinery — Vadodara, Bharuch, Jamnagar, Hazira | Owner specs on IS 2062 / IS 4759 with heavy-duty ladder, stated minimum coating, covers outdoors, third-party inspection; NEMA VE 1 on EPC packages. | HDG ladder 2.5–3.0 mm with 150 mm rails and covers; witness inspection before dispatch; NEMA load data where required. |
| LNG, ports and power — Dahej, Hazira, Mundra, Kandla | Marine-grade: HDG at the upper coating band, SS 316L at the waterline, FRP in chemical and desalination areas; IS and IEC; NEMA on US-EPC packages. | HDG, SS 316L and FRP perforated and ladder with covers; salt-spray-tested HDG. |
| Engineering, electrical equipment, glass — Vadodara, Rajkot, Halol | IS 2062 / IS 277 / IS 4759 with load-deflection clause; IEC 61537 on MNC sites. | HDG and pre-galvanised perforated and ladder, powder coated by service, trunking for control cabling. |
| Textiles, ceramics, food — Surat, Morbi, Anand | IS-based; HDG in humid areas; covers where dust and fibre are present. | HDG and pre-galvanised perforated with covers, ladder for utility racks. |
Perforated trays from 50 to 300 mm wide were load tested to failure at Chakan Testing and Research Lab, Pune (ISO/IEC 17025:2017, NABL TC-8638) in October 2024 with deflection recorded at every step, together with zinc coating thickness and uniformity, adhesion, salt spray, tensile, chemical and bend tests on the same samples; every tested section exceeds NEMA VE 1 class 8C working load at a 1.5 safety factor and stays within the IEC 61537 deflection limit. Download the laboratory reports (PDF, 19 pages); the data is tabulated on the IEC 61537 page. Material test certificates (EN 10204 3.1) and galvanising readings are issued with every lot; Pioneer's Certificate of Compliance to NEMA VE 1, declaration to IEC 61537:2023 and UL documentation are provided at submittal stage.
Where chlorine, hydrochloric or sulphuric vapour is present — chlor-alkali, bromine, dye intermediates, pickling and effluent areas — FRP is the only tray that lasts; stainless pits and galvanising is consumed within a few years. SS 316L is right for pharma and fine-chemical process areas with solvents and chlorides but without free acid gas, and for the marine side of Dahej and Hazira. Hot-dip galvanised after fabrication at 85 µm and above does the utilities, pipe racks and substations across the corridor. Pioneer manufactures all three and recommends by area against the plant's own corrosion zoning.
Pirangut to Vadodara is about 430 km and to Bharuch–Dahej about 370 km via the Mumbai–Surat highway: an overnight run, so standard GI, hot-dip galvanised and stock stainless sizes confirmed by afternoon are on site the next working day. Surat and Hazira are nearer still; Jamnagar, Mundra and Kandla are two days on the scheduled Saurashtra–Kutch route. FRP and made-to-order stainless take two to three weeks plus transit.
Yes. Fertiliser, petrochemical and refinery owners in Vadodara, Bharuch, Jamnagar and Hazira specify IS 2062 material, IS 4759 hot-dip galvanising with stated minimum coating, heavy-duty ladder for pipe racks, covers on outdoor runs and third-party inspection before dispatch; EPC packages add NEMA VE 1 load classes. Pioneer issues EN 10204 3.1 material certificates and galvanising readings per lot, shares an inspection and test plan in advance, and receives the owner's or third-party inspector at the Pune plant.
Yes. Solid and ventilated covers in the same material as the tray, sealed trunking for instrumentation in dusty areas, dividers for power and signal segregation, and matching FRP or stainless supports are supplied as a system so there is no dissimilar-metal contact in a corrosive atmosphere. Hardware is stainless or hot-dip galvanised to match.
Those are covered on the Ahmedabad and Gujarat page on this site, which deals with the automotive and engineering belt around Ahmedabad, Sanand and Becharaji. This page is for the chemical, petrochemical, pharma, refinery and port corridor from Vadodara down to Vapi and across to Jamnagar and Mundra.
No fixed minimum. Site top-ups for an ongoing plant ride with the next scheduled truck; a full truck of standard sizes is the economical quantity for a new project. Gujarat GST (IGST) applies; e-way bill with every consignment.
